There are a lot of questions still surrounding the pandemic, the vaccine and minorities’ response to both. In times of uncertainty, it is always good to go back to our roots and rely on the word of our faith leaders and pastors within our communities. That’s why Dr. Jayne Morgan decided to sit down with Dr. Patrick Sellers, Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist church in Birmingham, to talk about how leaders of faith should approach the pandemic and address concerns among their congregations.

Dr. Jayne Morgan is a Cardiologist with extensive experience in clinical patient management, as well as pharmaceutical and biotech research. She currently serves as the Director of Innovation and Research for Piedmont Healthcare and is the Clinical Director of the COVID Task Force. For the past 2 decades, she has focused on improving the care and quality of life measures for patients from heterogenous populations, including end-of-life patients without further medical options.

Dr. Patrick L. Sellers was the youngest of six born to Ethel M. Sellers and the late S. B. Sellers in Birmingham, Alabama. He is the father of two girls, Taylor Lauren Sellers and Tyra Reagan Sellers. He is a graduate of Hueytown High School, Hueytown, Alabama. Upon graduating from high school, Dr. Sellers enlisted in the United States Army as a Medical Specialist and served three (3) years Active duty and five (5) years in the Army Reserve. Dr. Sellers is a graduate of the Birmingham-Easonian Baptist Bible College, Birmingham, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastor's Program and Bachelors of Theology. He has received a Masters in Ministry and Doctorate of Ministry from the Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camille, Georgia. He currently serves as the Pastor of the Mt.
