Del’s mom was a traveling nurse who contracted tuberculosis. He watched his mom suffer only to discover there were research treatments that may have helped her manage her diagnosis better. She had never been offered the opportunity to participate in research though.
Tiffany was a young mom with a toddler diagnosed with asthma. The usual treatment option wasn’t providing the relief they hoped. Unsure why, she later learned that it was because the medicine was less effective in Black people.
