Event Takeways
One person said, “we need more people that can educate and bring awareness to diseases that affect Black/AA people at a higher rate.”
Councilor O’Quinn shared how his wife participated in clinical research and how that impacted her and then his wife shared how easily accessible the trial was for her and her kind of cancer.
The participants were really excited to learn about clinical research. From our interactive activity, we saw how many people didn’t have an awareness of clinical research but after speaking with us, they had an increased awareness and understanding.
Community members were interested in learning more about what we are, what we do, and how we can help them with their healthcare needs
Members were truly at the event for the “giveaways” and what they can take with them
The were open to talking to us and participating in our engagement such as one liners and stories
Swag was a big hit which allowed us to penetrate the event and get needed information on surveys
Interactive activity on the table was a great visual. We were able to also utilize this to a client to showcase the different ways we engage with the community
