We’re building resilience together.
Join this circle to find support and take charge of your mental well-being.
Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, yet stigma often prevents open conversations, especially in underrepresented communities. This circle provides a safe space to share experiences, access resources, and find support, helping to break the silence and prioritize mental wellness together.
NOWINCLUDED community member, Erika, shares how mental health affects daily routines – from physical well-being to relationships.
Wynning Foundation is a credentialed, compliant mental health organization actively serving underserved communities and improving outcomes.
Founded by our NOWINCLUDED Ambassador, Wynn Sarden, a 2x lymphoma survivor and thriver, the organization offers services to treat anxiety & depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD and more.
When it comes to our health, these four affect our community the most:
Understanding anxiety and depression is vital, especially within underrepresented communities. These conditions can manifest differently and be influenced by unique stressors.
Bipolar disorder is a brain condition that causes big shifts in a person’s mood, energy, and activity levels. It’s important for everyone to understand bipolar disorder, but especially for communities that may not always have easy access to doctors or mental health help.
Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that changes how a person experiences the world. It can cause things like hearing voices or having unusual thoughts. It’s important for everyone to learn about schizophrenia because there’s a lot of misunderstanding and fear around it, especially in communities where people don’t talk about mental health much.
PTSD is a mental health condition that develops after a traumatic event. It can cause flashbacks, anxiety, and trouble with sleep and concentration. Underrepresented communities often experience higher rates of PTSD due to factors like violence and discrimination, and may face barriers to getting treatment.
When we are not included in clinical research, we can’t be sure if a treatment will work just as well or be just as safe for us as it will for other races.
By participating in clinical research, we can give ourselves a chance to have treatments that may work better and be safer for us.
Learning more about clinical research can be a critical step in improving health outcomes for future generations.
If you still have questions, you are not alone.
