4 Strategies to Manage Your Sinuses

Sinus issues are never easy. For some, they’re temporary, triggered by seasonal allergies or other factors.1 But for others, we’re living with it every single day. For those of us living with chronic rhinosinusitis, sometimes referred to as chronic sinusitis or more simply, CRS, we’re constantly looking for remedies to improve our quality of life. Because let’s be real, it sucks.

If you have CRS and are exploring ways to manage your symptoms, look no further. Here are 4 strategies to help manage your symptoms, be it short-term relief or long-term:

  1. Rest and hydrate. We know… this is said for every health issue! But hydration and rest are vital to all aspects of life – including our sinuses. Drinking plenty of water may help thin any mucus that’s clogged in your nose and getting extra rest helps your body balance out the extra work it’s doing while battling CRS.

  2. Consider home remedies and treatments such as nasal rinses or nasal sprays. Watch this tutorial before trying it at home!

  3. Consider medical intervention like a balloon sinuplasty or a septoplasty. These are surgical options that aim to open up the blockages in your sinuses and help you breathe through your nose. Discuss if this, or other medical interventions, are the right option for you with your ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctor or primary care provider.

  4. Consider joining a clinical research study that is focused on potential new treatments for CRS. Learn more about clinical studies and CRS.

We know dealing with chronic conditions like CRS can be difficult. Both on your physical and mental health. Join our NOWINCLUDED chronic conditions community today and connect with others who are living with CRS.
